“Spatuletail Hummingbird” is my original painting celebrating the beauty of this extraordinary bird native to northern Peru. Rich blues and greens bring the hummingbird to life as it reaches toward vivid pink blossoms against a playful background of colorful pastel brushstrokes. Its sweeping, racquet-tipped tail feathers—used by males in elaborate courtship displays to attract females—give the piece a graceful sense of movement.
This piece comes with a decorative pink wood frame that complements its cheerful colors.
