This original painting tells the story of a love that began with a simple handshake and grew through a dinner date, exchanged gifts, flowers given to her, nights out dancing, and intimate moments in a private room. At its heart, the couple’s embrace gathers these memories together, celebrating their promise of forever love.
The soft pastel background contrasts with the warm golden figures, while my technique of layered rectangles creates texture, rhythm, and movement. Sections of the figures appear ripped apart, suggesting how memories remain with us without preserving every meticulous detail. These fragmented forms capture the feeling of those moments—the tenderness, excitement, and connection—even as parts of the memories fade.
